your needle could be the wrong size. I have the same machine and when I first got it I had all kinds of problems. not the machine. but getting use to the machine. get the Bobbin right. make sure you have the right needle. I just finished a star quilt and took a while to get the tension just right. very frustrating. Do a sample block first. with a scrap and batting you are using in the quilt. and follow the suggestions from the other quilters. It take a little while to get use to the machine .
