Merry Mayhem NYD Mystery, who is participating?

rvsfan, At first she said to cut the dark squares into triangles, then probably realized that she had us draw lines on the light squares in Part #1, which means you cut after sewing. It's just for making HSTs, so it doesn't really matter if you cut the dark squares, or didn't cut them.
thimblebug6000, Why did you cut your two medium fabrics into triangles? Did I miss that part? I didn't read that... I thought I was supposed to cut squares. ?
Ahhh, I went back to read the clue again. I see. I need to cut the squares diagonally.

Watson, yeah, I glossed right over reading that part too! I had to see thimblebug's post. I must have been in a hurry with the cutting part. Here's a pic of my start. I've used a cheater crazy patch for my dark in the HSTs.
You both have such nice choices of fabrics!

I have part 2 finished but didn't see the correction so I just cut new squares to make sense. I tried a few of the triangles on the light squares and didn't care for that process. I can always use them in a different project.
I think 2 of my fabrics were used in last year's mystery.
I should be home for clue 3 for a little and then I will need to catch up on the next few clues when I get home from my niece's house.

I want mine twin size. So I'll need about a 6" border, which will make it about 60" x 86" according to MM's measurement for the body of the quilt. I'm planning a pieced border-- so I'm working on it this evening. That way maybe I can get the complete top done tomorrow!

For sure I will be copying the clues. Depends on what’s going on whether I will be joining in. I could be just lurking. Happy New Years.

I am joining in too. I did her last one and enjoyed it. I am doing mine in batiks and I hope it looks good. My son picked out the fabric for his home in Florida. After I cut the selvage off, I put it in hot water and it faded so bad I checked the other ones too. I ended up washing 3 of them. Color catchers got red. I am glad I checked. I hope everyone has a good time doing this and have fun!

I’m participating too., will take a picture of my fabrics when I get into my sewing room. Have clues one & two cut, need to sit down & stitch the half square triangles yet. I’m making the full sized one just because it was the largest I found fabric for in my stash. This will be my first mystery quilt.

I'm doing the quilt. I'm doing the second size. My quilt will likely be for my granddaughter. Her birthday isn't until October so I'll be plenty far ahead - unless she tells me otherwise. lol I have 2 grands and they get quilts for their birthdays.
