All the time. I like doing differnt things, I will always change a patern or a tec. as I go along. I am always looking for a easier way to do things.

I have mustard on some of my large table doilies. I remember so well the little girl who spilled it. She is 26 now.

I made a patriotic one for a lady at work and she put it under clear plastic. Didn't understand it, but she paid for it and she can do it her way. I am for the spills, stains and anything else that makes it part of a family history!

Quilts are so warm and welcoming...why on earth would anyone want to cover one with plastic?! Yuck!!! I just don't get it...oh, and phooey on the so-called quilt police!

This makes me remember, years ago our quilt guild had a guest quilter (author, instructor). During her program she told about driving home from a lecture and teaching trip and coming upon a car accident that had just happened. Without thinking twice about it, she got out the quilts she had with her for her program and wrapped them around some of the accident victims. Yes, they got quite soiled, but as she said, they were needed and they were washable, so no big problem for her to use them. (She didn't lose any of the quilts during this, either!!)

As you said QUILT POLICE. As love Too Quilt said " it's yours you made it" so whatever you want is right.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe she's a long lost descendant of my auntie?
