I've used them, especially in Christmas quilts and table toppers. The table toppers have gotten regular washing and seem to be holding up as well as other cottons. I usually avoid the glitter ones (too scratchy and messy) but like the ones with some metallic in the print.

I'm working with Northcutt Artisan Shimmer fabrics right now. Various gold metallic patterns on gorgeous blues. It is holding up well to prewashing, pressing and handling. The metallic didn't stiffen the fabric like some older ones.
