    Default Metallic Gold quilting thread?

Does anyone have a favorite metallic gold qulting thread? I have never tried it and have a Bee challenge piece that I think would look good.

I use Glitter by Superior Threads. Use a topstitch #90/14 needle and reduce the top tension to 1.0 and Glitter is guaranteed to work. I appreciate how Superior gives needle and tension sizes for the specialty threads. Also Superior has a good sale now on Magnifico Gold thread.

hand or machine? It has been 20 years since I used Krenick? to hand quilt my Dear Jane, I learned quickly to thread 12-14" pieces or it wore through. Beautiful though, and worth it. Probably something much better out there now.
Machine applique I used gold or silver a lot, mettler. Worked great, occasionally I need to use a bit of silicone run down the length of the spool.

I use a machine needle specifically for metallic thread, otherwise it keeps breaking! They even make twin needles for metallic at Schmetz.

My Innova machine will take just about any thread with no issues. I ordered metallic theads from BF Creations so it's embroidery thread but my quilt machine takes it better than my embroidery machine does.

BF Creation is selling out their embroidery thread though so they may not have anymore.
