Method of adding a narrow accent flange
When I sew on the narrow 1"(folded)strip ...do you apply it left and right of quilt ...then top and bottom in strips? or...do you apply it around the quilt like you would apply binding? Wouldn't that make the corners really thick. I just want the narrow flange as an accent and then I want to apply a wider border.

Great tute for adding a flange. Just a thought - if one turned the item over to the back to sew on the border, you would have the flange stitching line as a guide, and no stitches showing on the front.

Four years ago, I wrote a flanged binding tute that is simpler and easier than the one posted, but I'm not allowed to post it here. 
You sew the flange and the binding fabric together first, then sew it onto the quilt. Both sides are by machine.

Odd that you are not allowed to post a tutorial ... seems everyone else can!
Is yours basically done the same way as the link above?
I put a flange on my PC quilt, long before I knew of the method above .... but my way did let me do the hand stitching for the finish of the binding. I prefer that much more than a machine stitched finish.
