I have the clover, burned my fingers too. I did use it for applique while I was sitting with my husband while he was getting chemo. I t helps if you have a lot of little projects , if you are on the go.

I use a small travel iron I bought for about $3 from a thrift store, works really good.

I have one that looks like a tiny little iron. It heats well but the only problem with it is where it plugs into the iron. Because I am right handed so everytime I try to press it knocks the plug out of the iron. Frustrating.

I use my Clover mini-iron all the time for Hot Ribbon applique. If you do get one, use a large ceramic coffee mug as a holder rather than the stand it comes it - with prevent burns - ask me how I know this..... :lol:

My DH is very creative and helpful when I need some aid in my quilting. He had made a miniature ironing board that was about a 12" long and 4" wide rectangle. I told him it would be very helpful for me to have one a little larger and in the shape of an ironing board. We were able to come up with a winner and have sold several of them to quilt shops. I use my Conair miniature steam iron and just love it. I had one for about 6 years and used it all the time. It recently burned out and I was able to find two on E-Bay that had never been used. Here is a picture of the one I have. I set it and my ironing board on my sewing machine table and use it constantly to press smaller pieces and 1/4" seams.

I have a Con-Air mini iron. Love it!! Works so well for quilting. Just everything about it is good.
