I realized while I am quilting a very repeditive pattern I play games as to when I can remove the pins in that section to see how far I have gone I cannot remove the pins until that section is finished It makes the quilting go faster and I dont get as bored with the quilt does anyone else play mind games with themselves to get jobs done

When I get discouraged, I tell myself "I'll sew just 1 (or 2,4,whatever) more pieces and then I can stop". Usually that gets me over the hump. If not, I really do stop because that is when you start making mistakes.

Sometimes, but mostly my mind plays games with me. My friend sent me a Civil War Tribute quilt to LA and I had to redo the backing. The whole time I worked on the backing on Sunday the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" kept going through my mind. Suppose when I start quilting it I will alternate between that and "Dixie"

if i don't set some sort of goal/game, i don't get much accomplished. so these are good ideas.
