A very frugal friend was at a donut shop when they were taking their huge sign out of the window. He asked ifhe could have it, no use in mind. That evening we had a meeting and he asked about it. I scooped it up for using for stiff bottoms in bags, etc. Only thing is, that was several years ago and it still resides under my eaves waiting to be used.

I was also looking for a use for the little basket like thingy inside the k-cups. I thought it might come in handy for SOMETHING. Eventually recycled them. Some things back-fire but I keep trying to avoid trashing anything.

We had a few computers replaced at work. They came packaged with 3/4" rugged cardboard, approximately 3' x 4'. I brought them all home - 6 to be exact. I covered the front with white flannel, wrapped them to the back and glued it down. I have used them one at a time, or 4 at a time - haven't actually used all 6 at one time. My grandson comes over and we cut out "dogs" with the accuquilt cutting system and he places the dogs on the board and since I have so many boards, its OK to leave it until next time he comes over. I'm able to stack them 2 high and have something of a design board at that point. Probably one of the best "rescues" ever!
