    Default Mini Iron recomendations

I am looking for a mini iron to use for piecing. What do you use? I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. There are so many out there.

I didn't like my Clover wedge, I kept burning myself on it. Bad ergonomic design, in my opinion.

I got a Dritz Petite Press and LOVE it. It has 4 temperature settings, a built-in stand that folds down for easy storage, and an adjustable head. I got mine at Joann's with a 50% off coupon. Then I went back and got 2 more - one for a friend, and one for a backup, which I haven't had to use yet.

I didn't like the mini-Clover iron - gave it to a friend and she gave it back. Not sure what happened to it.

I have the Steamfast SF-717. I got it on Amazon for about $24. Gets hot, uses steam if you want and no auto shut off. I am on my second one. Dropped my first on on my tile floor one too many times.

I didn't like the Clover wedge either! I totally agree with Peckish { I didn't like my Clover wedge, I kept burning myself on it. Bad ergonomic design, in my opinion.} I found a small travel iron at Goodwill and used that for a couple years, am now on my second one.

I didn't like the Clover Wedge at first. It didn't seem to get hot enough. Then when I discovered it had a "sweet" pot in the center of the plate, I began to like it. I also like that it doesn't have auto-shut off.

I don't have a mini-iron. I purchased the Clover, but like Peckish, kept burning myself. Also, I felt like the wedge of the iron was too small. The smallest iron I own is a travel Rowenta I got on sale on one of the websites I frequent. I can take it anywhere, and since I don't use steam, I don't worry about it developing a leak.

I keep a Rowena travel iron next to my machine for pressing as I work. I have one of those cutting mat one side -- ironing surface the other side thingees in a small size that I use it with. Works fine. I use a full size iron at my cutting station. The Rowena gets very hot, very fast and doesn't cut off automatically so I have it plugged into a power strip and flip the strip off when I'm finished working.
