Miniatures

My quilt guild brought in George Siciliano & I took his workshop. My first attempt at foundation piecing and a mini. It was a challenge, but I will finish my mini! Each 3" block has 40 pieces in it. It will finish at about 15" square, made of 16 blocks total.

And all the quilts shown are gorgeous. I wish I had the patience.

jljack-Your mini is lovely! I find that making miniature quilts is so rewarding. I can create without having to use lots of fabrics and I just don't need more quilts, either. It is an opportunity to make any style I've never tried before. I use the doll quilt swap to try something new and it's a way to learn new techniques. My friends probably don't know what to do with mini quilts, but I use them seasonally and for many small decor ideas. They are charming to me. polyparrot- Love your quilts!

I made pineapple blocks in EQ7 that'll finish at 2" finished. I'm cutting them and going to use my itty bitty scraps on that.
So far for the GFG I've got over 100 hexies basted, but they're not all together yet. Hopefully soon.

Here are some miniature flying geese quilts I made for a doll - the first one was too big for the doll, so I re-made it. The strips of flying geese are paper-pieced and I would definitely stick with paper piecing for patches this small. The finished geese are about 3/4" x 1½"
