EllieGirl - You only use Minky when you want to "FEEL BAAAAAAD" Minky was made by someone who DOESN'T sew! I have found that if you put the Minky on "TOP", for sewing. So the bottom becomes the top for sewing - helps. I have also spray basted Minky to inner-facing (like you would use for a T-shirt quilt), then put on the backing (but I still sewed together with the Minky on top). Good luck

The minky is such a beautiful soft fabric but i have been afraid to try it. I admire your courage

I made most of my grand kids a pillow case out of minky and they love them the best!

I used Minky as a backing for a baby quilt that I LA'd. The instructor had me pin the stretchier sides to the bars. It came out fine.

The only problem I have with Minky is the shedding when it's cut, otherwise I love it.

Don't feel too bad. Minky is a whole different animal!

Hahaha! Just what I was working on last night for my soon great niece. It's suppose to be a cuddle quilt of all soft lushly fabrics crib size (thank goodness). You know the ones that are terrible to sew with but oh so soft. Like minky silky satin etc. what was I thinking? A walking foot light stabilizer or basting is what I'll do next time. I did finish the top now on to the rest of it. Wish me luck! You're in great company with minky being an enemy. But we still do it and get nice results.

I love minky, but it is a little different to use. You have to take your time, Use lots of pins, and I put paper underneath it so the feed dogs don't stretch it.

I agree - love the look and feel of it, but not working with it.
