MISS MY SEWING MACHINE
#14
I never had any problems making time to sew after work and on weekends, and I've been with this company for 28 years, and with my current boss for 24. My husband works several evenings a week, so I didn't have to mess with cooking and cleaning, either. But I've only sewn twice since January 1st, and both times were at workshops, because we are taking care of our two precious grands while our daughter is in Afghanistan. My sewing room became their bedroom, and all my sewing stuff had to be packed away where they couldn't reach it.
I can hear you asking, and yes, I could sew on the dining room table, but I'd gotten spoiled not putting everything up every night. Plus, this old granny is worn out by the time they get in bed.
So I look at patterns and buy fabric (just because I'm not sewing on it doesn't mean I can't own it, right?) and wait patiently for March and their mother's return.
It's funny. I didn't have trouble with the empty nest syndrome when my son and daughter moved out, but I'm going to have problems when the grands go home!
