You all are so funny!!!!!! A few years ago we put new carpet in the whole house, at the same time. I labeled each box with what was in it and what room it came from. Everything went out to the guest house. A week later everything was brought back into the house. I swear someone got into those boxes and mixed everything up.I know I could not have messed up that much. DH thought it was very funny. Think he may have had something to do with it.

Google "Feng Shui" to find the "helpful people" corner of your house and put up a note saying "I will find my tumbler blocks". I once lost an extremely important legal document. I looked in the file where it was supposed to be at least a dozen times, because I couldn't imagine that it would be anywhere else. The file only had 8 pieces of paper in it. Someone suggested I put up the note and about a week later I looked in that file again and lo and behold the document was there. There is no way I could have missed it while looking at only 8 documents. And apparently you don't even need to believe in feng shui in order for it to work. Good luck!!

The blocks are with the seam rippers, skewers I use as styluses, small scissors, bobbins, and a host of other things that the cat has stolen over the last few years!
Seriously, I have done the same thing, and end up tearing the room apart looking... Then I have to put everything away, which makes me tired, and then I don't get to work on the darn thing.

The "Not Me Ghost" took it.
Let me explain. When the kids were smaller, and we asked them who did it, they would always say "not me" so my dh always said it was the "not me ghost" so now when ever I lose anything, its the "not me ghost".

"GHOSTS" After my husband died so many things came up missing I told him it wasn't funny any more. P.S. These things were never found again. even a pen that I sat down on my computer desk and when I went to pick it up it was gone forever.....Jo

When I was about 6-1/2 and staying at my grandparents for a while, I found my grandmother's false teeth in a cup of water in the bedroom and tried them on for size, but couldn't get them out. My mother and grandmother heard a lot of ugh's coming from the bedroom and came to see what was the matter. They were a fell set of teeth and were stuck.

I believe in quit fairies. They are cute little things covered in odd pieces of tiny scraps of fabric and those little snippets of thread we toss aside. Mine tend to be mischievous little creatures but not at all destructive or mean. Frankly, what they think is a \charming little trick is frustrating and time consuming to the human quilter. My best solution curtail their activity is to ignore the quilt fairies altogether and they will eventually give up and your missing item will reappear when you least expect it to. Often under the pile of fabric you just looked at or in the basket you just dumped and sorted twice before while searching for your lost item. On the up side these wee ones also will whisper in my ear "Dearie, you can finish one more block before going to bed", or "You can do it, it's not that hard" and 'Wow, that is beautiful!"
