I was at one of the LQS and they had a unique quilt that had just been finished. I noticed it because the look of the fabrics was those of civil war reproduction prints. Then I looked closer and noticed 'blood spots/splatters' on the muslin/light colored fabric. I mentioned it to a worker and she said that the fabric is purposely done that way, called the Missouri Compromise pattern using the 'blood spots/splatters' fabric. I have to admit that those spots are very realistic looking.

No Jan, it isn't. It looks like you pricked your finger and a droplet hit the fabric. It isn't an allover print, it is hit and miss.

The fabric maker must have been desperate for new ideas that day! Pricked his/her finger and said WA LA! A new design!!!
