I seem to have to let this sink in, show me and I have it
forever, write it and it takes a while. I think I will play with fabric and folding to a 45n need to get new
marking pen, as usual when I need it, it has vanished
until I am done with project when I find it once again.

Thank you all so much for trying to help me figure this out. This wouldn't be 1/2 as intimidating if it were 2"
instead of ten. Thank you, thank you, blessings.

Ok Martina, are you folding the quilt so the side and top
border go the same way and form a rectangle that extends
past your 1/4 edge, then use the 45 to mark. You start
sewing at the edge of your backstitch and follow your line
removing pins as you go? Am I getting it?

Agreed. And it sounds like you have the idea. I know what you are going through. (My first mitered corner was 10" wide, also.)

    You'll get it!

Yes, and the fabric (top) is folded back in a triangular shape between the two borders.

much easier along with everyones comments and especially
    the tutorial.

Why? It's really not that hard - just hard to explain. I would try it on an attic window block, just to have a manageable piece to work with.

    Martina,

I love your pictures,,,,they're great. Just discovered
your PDF file. Good job. Working on getting the
borders pinned on and will play with them at that
point. Just got first pinned, 108 by 96, three more
sides to pin and sew to 1/4". Hope to start and
finish this stage tonight, poopy lighting, or vision
    actually both.

I will keep you posted on progress..........Cindy
