Definitely a Murphy's law thing! Patience, patience, patience. I think we get into the groove and figure that the first 3 have gone so well, we get a little lax with the details of doing that 4th corner. Of course, then it rears it's ugly head and reminds us that we just have to slow down and take our time.

Miters are my downfall. I've been quilting for years and even though I've been shown (in person), read how and seen videos how to do mitered corners, my "intelligence" flees when I try to do them. Give me a block with a zillion points, no problem. Give me four corners or a border to miter, forget about it! Grrr...and no, it's not Murphy's Law, it's actually Boyle's corollary to Murphy's Law: "Murphy was an optimist". LOL

I have been quilting for over 25 years and there is always one miter corner that no matter that I measured twice, is off. I have learned NOT to trim until it has been pin basted. Since I have stooped making larger quilt, I find my 15" square ruler is hardly ever used any more!!
