I would only use all broadcloth as it is heavier than regular quilting cotton it would wear longer and better and hold the color better than regular quilting cotton. Same as I would not mix Poly blend fabrics with 100% Cotton fabrics. Poly blend wears longer and holds the color better.
It is your quilt and feel free to use whatever you like.

I've used cotton broadcloth with cotton in some of my quilts and have never had any problems! It works fine and looks wonderful!

So, are you saying that Broadcloth has a poly blend? I am quite new to quilting and I don't know my fabrics at all.

Those of us who upcycle often end up with unlabeled fabrics that we have to make a judgement about. I look at weight more than fiber content. Mixing fabrics works for me.

Coming from a garment making background, I loved using broadcloth. I don't have any in my stash but I would use it if I did, especially if it's the right color or print.

Also IMHO it would make a stronger seam when paired with a loosely woven fabric.

Just this morning watched "Fons & Porter, Love of Quilting" on PBS. Subject was on using any type of fabric. Just use iron on stablizer (just use low temp of iron). Stiff fabric doesn't need any but like silk, tafetta, etc do. Stablizer comes in different weights.
