Personally I would not buy this small of a piece of fabric.
It would be too limited on use. I won't even buy FQ.
I think buying yardage is a much better purchase.
But each quilter has their own preferences. :D

I would buy a set if I could get all oriental prints. I have a quilt pattern that calls for something like 160 different oriental prints in 7" x 7" squares (minimum). I could use a layer cake if I could find one but no luck there yet. I keep looking. I have been lucky in that a number of my quilting friends have given me some bits of their oriental stashes. So I now have 77 prints and the background material. I am about to start making the squares. I probably have enough material because I did buy a bunch of FQs for this and I can duplicate some of the squares, instead of making them all unique.

I agree with Debra - they're a rip-off, unless you have a project specifically earmarked for them. The Fat 8th seems useless to me - it's neither one nor t'other - FQs can be helpful, also half-yards, but for the price, why not just go ahead and buy a yard and have some for other projects? I do mostly scrappy, so this works for me. If you figure up the cost of the pre-cut bundles, you'll find they're a lot more expensive than just getting a yard.
