As I quilt along, I find that I prefer more complicated traditional. I don't really need quick and easy anymore. Though sometimes I just want to sit and sew and not "Think" about it. But usually it's traditional.

I'm finding that I fall somewhere off the spectrum. I like traditional patterns, but I like to put a "vintage modern" spin on them cuz I like to make things a little different. I don't use a lot of d solids and I only like a small percentage of the newer designer prints. I have a large stash of vintage sheets. I guess I like "my" style!

That's hard to answer. I'm much more traditional in my preference but love so much of what I've seen that's more modern. I love watching how quiltmaking is evolving.

If it’s a quilt I like them all, I have done an equal amount of both and make quilts based on what I think the recipient may like and do my best to try and fit personality to the quilt I make for them.

I like a modern look, but not too avant-garde. I do not like what reminds me of country or early American decor. I enjoy some of the more traditional fabrics, but not that style of block such as baskets.

you can make a traditional modern by making it larage or the fabric you use. today on Quilting arts, I think it was, they did a large churn dash. very modern looking. a sing of the times, we don't have all the time we'd like to have. i'm on a English Paper Piecing kick lately. I have no more room for quilts, so i'm doing hand pieced quality quilts now.

I love traditional quilts, but I also love the negative space in modern quilts because it's an opportunity for the quilting to shine. I'm not a fan of art quilts (maybe because I don't have the talent to make them), and I don't generally like quilts that were made as a statement (of anything).

Even w/ something as ultra traditional as EPP there are plenty of ways to make it very modern and contemporary. I am in several FB EPP groups and there are several quilters doing very modern takes on it.
