Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and stories about their parents and loved ones who were lost to Alzheimers.
I actually have a funny story to share:
I made a quilted purse for my Mom for Christmas and filled it with little trinkets and treasures for her. (This was an idea I found on this board from all of you wonderful members) She thought it was just beautiful and was very happy with it. When I went to see her again the next day, her purse was gone. I asked the nurse if she had seen it but she hadn't. My sister said when she was there visiting, one of the other patients came in Mom's room and was admiring her things. We asked the nurse to check this woman's room but it wasn't there and the woman was gone with her family for the day. The nurse checked when she came back and sure enough the woman thought it was hers and 'borrowed" it for the day! We got a chuckle out of it! Her family wondered who gave her such a nice purse too!

Thanks for sharing your Mom’s funny purse story. You have a great outlook about the lady who had your Mom’s purse and a wonderful sense of humor about it.

Doesn't surprise me at all. We used to bring my MIL cookies or other treats. She would leave them on her tray table while she went to 'activities', and the cookies and treats were gone. Her roomie enjoyed them. Luckily, my MIL had forgotten we brought them to her by the time she got back to her room!
