    Default mondo bag stiffner?

I`m about to make one. I know a little behind the times!lol
Was wondering although it doesn`t call for it, if anyone use a light weight stiffner?
    Thanks Gale

I'm not familiar with the mondo bag, but I have made several bags and I really like to use headliner in them. Headliner fabric is what auto manufacturers use on the inside of the roof of a car. It gives the fabric some stiffness and stand-up-ability (yes I did just make that word up ) while staying soft and foldable at the same time. It's easy to sew and quilt through.

You can get headliner fabric at Hancock's, Joann's, and I'm sure other places as well.

I have made 7 mondo bags and I have never used a stiffner for any of them. The fusible batting does add some stiffness to the bags.

I'm about to do one of these for myself. I'm thinking the fusible will be enough. These look like they may be addicting!

Just found a video showing the squares being placed then pressed onto a fusible interfacing. Can't find a follow up showing how they would be machined. Never made the bag it looks exciting if I can find the next video.

Karen Dennison has 3 videos making a mondo bag using a special square interfacing. I looked up mondo bag and found videos there.

Didn't realize the pattern calls for fusible batting that will be enough
the videos and instructions are not very helpful
does the fusible go on the linning?
I'm going to start then rake it to a retreat first weekend in June as I know i'll need help
    thanks all Gale

I would go with the fusible batting.

I've made a bunch of the Mondo and Midi bags. I have used a fusible interfacing to made it stiffer instead of batting.
