I agree with a large cutting area as the higher priority.

I would go with a cutting table. When JoAnn's has a 50% off sale on all of their quilting items go pick up one of their portable pressing boards. I got one last week when they were on sale (plus my teacher discount) for about $12.99. It's about 20" X 24" roughly. Just guessing. When you're not pressing, it can be set aside.

I would prefer the large cutting table. I have an ironing board that I set up when I am piecing.

I would prefer the cutting board. It is great when squaring the large quilts and also when trimming borders.

    cutting station, for sure.
make or buy a nice big pressing mat to throw on top when you need it.

Cutting table! One at just the right standing height would be wonderful. When I iron it us usually just pressing seams and that is done on a smaller rectangular ironing pad.

I prefer a large cutting area, especially if I am cutting up 2 or 3 yds of fabric. That is usually where I start. I very seldom work with small pieces, like FQs

Both are important to me, but my space is limited. I've designed a drop down cutting table and just above it, a drop-down ironing table. It's enclosed in a 6" deep rectangle attached to the wall....very simple. My husband will figure out the rest of the dimensions and hopefully do the installation this spring.
