Default From the mouths of Babes... melted my heart

Just wanting to share something so sweet that my 11 yr old granddaughter said to me recently. She was telling me that she needs a new quilt when I have time, because she has outgrown the one I made her when she was 6.
I was telling her it would probably be a while as I have a few in line before her. Then I was showing her some of the UFOs I have that she could choose from to make it faster. There was one that she liked and I told her she could have that one.
She looked thoughtful for a bit then she said, "No Nana, it needs to be one you were thinking about me the whole time while you made it. That's what makes it special."

Isn't it great when you know your family really gets you and understands what you do? I had to hug that girl till she squeeked and said, "Nana, you are squishing me." LOL

Sometimes I share sad things, so I am delighted to share this wonderful moment. Every time I think of it it makes me .

Smiles, Emma, I am already on it. She sews every time she comes to visit or I go there. She has made doll quilts, applique pillows and such. Sadly we live in NY and they in OH so I don't have as much time as I'd like.

I would-of hugged her hard too, [I once gave a granddaughter a sheet set, [after I washed I] and she said It smelled like Grandmom] that was worth a big hug too.!!
