I love watching movies with people making quilts in them. I also love watching the Waltons and Little House on the prarie because I see so many quilts in those shows. Sounds like yall will have a good time at your meeting! Don't forget the popcorn!

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Love the movie and the dresses they wear made out of quilts--wonderful.

There is the movie " Step mom" with oh gosh can't remember her name.... the mom that is dying makes a memory quilt for her daughter and a quilted cape for her son. There are a lot of quilts in her house that you get glimpses of and then and occasionally you see her quilting.

I laughed until I cried at the goat scene. The quilts are called 'quivers' in the movie, slang for 'covers'. It's a great movie and Burl Ives sings Lavender Blue in it. It would be perfect for your quilt group.
This is one of my favorites as well - also grew up with my Mother singing that song - kinds sticks in your head.

I read an article about how the quilt was made for the movie American Quilt. They had to find quilters that had matching hands to the stars so they could film the hands quilting. I thought that was rather foolish, I mean even a movie star can hold a needle and thread and push it in fabric. The close up quilting scenes were just seconds long anyway. The quilter in charge of the getting the quilt said she gave them an outrageous cost for her making it in a short time and the studio said fine we'll pay it. So she didn't moan the fact the quilt was dragged in the mud. I think several quilts were made. It was an interesting article. I can't remember which quilt magazine it was in.

Similar idea -- Does anyone know of novels involving quilting? I've read some of the knitting novels and would love quilting novels.

There is also the documentaries "Stitched - the film" and Why Quilts Matter (in 9 parts - AQS has it) and have the advantage of being short!
