I moved my sewing room to a larger one when my son moved out. I'm still looking for gadgets and fabric that seem to have vanished. My suggestion, take a photo of where everything was in the old room so you can put things back in the same order. It saves tons of times looking for that marking pencil, rotary cutter, blades, etc.

Me, too! Can't wait to see the photos. Have fun with it and all you will re-discover in your moving stuff to your new space!

Lucky you, wish I was able to devote an entire room to sewing again, just no room in the apt. now. Looking forward to the before and after pictures. Good luck.

I was lucky enough to have a wonderful sewing room on the top floor. It was complete with two apple trees that were in it. We draped a philodendren on it . Had many windows and a balcony. Steps were getting too much, they are very steep. So we are now in the process of switching to a downstairs room that is fairly large...no trees. My DH and I share this room, he is a quilter also. I am trying to think only of the positives of this move, but I do miss my tree house. One big plus is that we found the fabric that is the edge and background to a GMFG that I have been making for two years now.

I have to wonder how your husband feels about your boyfriend being over most nights while he is away.

I think you were referring to your daughter's boyfriend, but of course I did not read it that way.

Have fun moving your room, enjoy the bigger space.

I am so excited for you. Have a wonderful time setting up your very special quilting space. Fancy is not a requirement for a quilting room, just something big enough for you to work in. Can't wait to see the photos. Have fun!

It will be wonderful, I am sure! Just keep thinking about the vision you have for the new space and it will get you through the rough parts of packing. Best of luck!
