Default MQG Victoria Great Sew In today

Wow what a day. I joined the Victoria BC Modern Quilt Guild last June.

The Guild's charity project was to make 10 quilts for a local Youth Shelter. The group has been making HST ever since.

Today we had a sew-in to make the tops.

Two had been prepared ahead of time. 9 more were completed in just 6 hours. The last one is 3/4 done, I brought it home to finish as we ran out of blocks.

It was great to see so many women pitching in, some designing, some sewing, others pressing and yup ripping out an oops or two. Two had mistakes in them that were visible when the tops were complete. We left them in place.

I will try to link to photos once the Guild posts them online.

Another sew-in will be planned for the quilting and binding.

Don't you just love when you find a guild that fits? We do charity quilts too but don't seem to get the cooperation that your group does. It sounds great.
