I think they are fun to make and they add a little fun when having a cup of tea. Besides that they are cute!

I have only ever made one. I sent it to my mom as a postcard and she sets her mug of ice cream on it every night. She thought it was the coolest post card ever.

I was wondering this too.....thanks, everybody! My thought was, "Why do I want to make something for the purpose of staining it with coffee???".....silly old me!

I made one for a friend to use at work. It has pictures of her dogs on it. One of them has since passed so she really loves using it.

I agree. I don't see the point for them. They do look like pot holders. I don't drink coffee and I use the Tervis cups and insulated glasses that don't sweat.

I like them...just like oversized coasters....so fits my big mug of tea and a small plate/saucer for the inevitable biscuit (cookie) which I have with my tea....everyone's different. Just keep making them if you like them.

I make them because they are pretty and fun to make. It's art.

I make mine 5" square or round.
this is the pattern like I use but mine don't have to be bound

I think their utility for other people would depend on if they normally used coasters period
