Welcome from Ohio.
Just wanted to share an idea. In the past I was able to find fabric that had a musical keyboard printed from selvage to selvage. This could be used as borders for your quilt.
If not able to find this locally then I would research fabric stores online. If you have a LQS ask then for guidance and ideas.

I have also been collecting music themed fabric since DH and I are both drummers for a local pipe band. I also love the dramatic black, white and red quilts, and have found several music fabrics that will work well for that look.
If you daughter is into softer colors, your options are more limited, but some do exist.
Applique could also be an option:
