i hope the muslin you bought was 108" wide! 5 yards of 45" muslin will not be anywhere close to what you need to back a king size quilt-
kona is a very good brand
muslin is not the same as 'calico's which is what most of our quilting cottons are- there is a difference in the processing of the cotton- muslin has been around for a lot longer than calicos and it does wear very well- and just get softer and softer with every wash- magic fabric at a very inexpensive price!

I bought a bolt of 102" muslin awhile ago and it seems to go on and on. I don't use it for backings because it doesn't hide the mistakes. I like to use prints for the backings so you can't see my mistakes.
