    I use a strip of painter's tape over the stack of post-it notes to keep them in place. That works great for me as I could never keep the notes from coming off either.

    I have used business cards, that 1/4 in. tape w/ the lines on them, even drew it on w/a sharpe. Now I have my 1/4 in. foot on every machine, gotta love 'em.

    I've used this technique with painter's tape (stacked 3 layers hight) for quite a while and my 1/4" seams are almost flawless now.
