Great use of painter's tape! I keep a roll in my sewing bag; it's come in handy a number of times for various things.

That's a good one to keep the quarter inch straight! We sometimes get in a hurry and it skitters off and it ends up making a bubble when you press it. Thanks for that!

Been there, and do that also. Only way I can have any hope of keeping it to a 1/4". lol.

Another tip I've seen (via Pinterest) is to use rubber bands around the throat of your machine, ie to the right of the sewing area to guide your fabric against....can use different colours for different widths....and they WONT affect any computerised machines, none of it has to be metal to get magnets to stick to and easily removed when not needed.

Isn't it a pain when that happens! I hope that my idea helps everyone else.

How nice that you were able to go with your Hubby and get a vacation and a new machine as a bonus.

It was a lot of fun! Maybe not for him because he had to go to meetings but I had a blast!

I keep my pin cushion setting in the hole of a roll of painter's tape on my sewing machine at all times. Those tomatoe cushions fit perfectly inside the core of the tape roll and the tape roll keeps the pincushion from falling off the machine.
