I guess is was really just a family joke, meaning you are just plain cheap (hate to spend money). Really shouldn't have used it I guess. Just a habit. Sorry.

I bought the Oliso from Nancy's Notions when it went on sale. the weight doesn't bother me because all you do is push it aside instead of putting it on end. The higher priced model is stronger steam and a longer cord. I have had the grey one for two years and just love it. I take it to my monthly quilt session and the ladies just drool!!

Never saw this iron. I will have to check it out.
My sewing Christmas wish list is small. I would love a 1957 Singer Featherweight (not really looking but wishing), a couple of suction grippers for my rulers, 2 more long rulers, a nice collection of thread, 100 yards of all kinds of cotton fabric to start a few more quilts and some bolts of cotton batting.
