    My Dearest Candlequilter,
It is with sincere regrets that I am writing to inform you of my inability to follow your clear and concise directions for creating your Star Block paper-pieced pattern. I have been struggling since 10 o'clock this morning (it is now after 3 pm) and I simply cannot get my block to lay flat. While I hate to commit to something and not be able to follow through, I am asking for mercy and forgiveness. However, I do feel that I must "pay" you something so I will be placing some festive reds, whites, and blues in the mail to you. In light of the upcoming holiday and since I was making a patriotic star, I thought you might like to know that because of "fullness" (think C) in the center of my block I will be making another one just like the first one and wearing them tied with a string to my bosom. I think my fellow festive July 4th party-goers will enjoy my new bikini bathing suit top...
    With warmest regards,
    quiltyfeelings
p.s. any ideas for a paper-pieced star pattern that could accomodate the lower portion required for a "bikini bottom?"
    :)

    sorry.

I think that you have the right idea. I just hope that the police wont get you for not wearing enough clothing. hope you will be at the beach. I know that they would hall me off to the pokie as soon as they saw me like that. would love to see your block so far there might be a suggestion for helping you.

OMG - I am laughing so hard after reading your post. Please don't worry about sending me a block or anything. I hate to know that I have put someone thru this much trouble. However, with that said I would love to see your creation (modeled or not- ). Two things come to mind for the pattern. The first is if your 1 inch square scale was exactly 1 inch square and the other is if you still have the paper on the back of the block. Because I like to press my seams as I go sometimes my block will start to curl because I use steam and it curls the paper alittle. Anyway if you take the paper off, starch and press it normally lays flat.

Again sorry to hear of the frustrations but I am sure that you will be "the star" of any party you go to wearing that.

    Thanks again,
    Sherryl

    Hey guiltyfeelings,
I have a great matching, patriot, "bowl" that you could take something like chips to that party in. Sorry not sure it would work for your bottom though. Don't feel bad, mine didn't work out either and I was determined it would. But I'm not finished with it yet.
