    When I picked out colors, I knew for most shading, you have to have a light, med & dark...then shades in between for better blending depending on the pattern you have to use. I picked from the primary colors and went from there. Next thing I knew, I had 45 colors sitting there. Needed to be sure to get shades for flesh tones and shading of them also. Shades of gray for white areas and so on. Eons ago, I did some fabric painting and remembered that shading can make or break a design.

    After I got home, I found & printed out a shade chart for the type of thread we got and found that we would like to have at least another 35 shades to match and fill in between the ones we have now.
