Very pretty. I don't see a Civil War motif, but do see a square diamond with facets coming out each side and corner.

Now, I'm just asking. Even though I have been a quilter for many years, many people, such as you in your explanation OBM use initials to explain your method or whatever. I would love to see someone use all the letters that mean something compile them on a page and publish them, so we all could know what you are talking about UFO.

As far as I'm concerned I would never (and no one else should either), consider making a block like that, unless it was paper pieced. As long as you will sew accurately on the line, you can't go wrong. Each section of the block will be the same and your block will come out perfect! This looks to take about an hour = 14 pieces in each 1/4 block. That's if you've chosen your fabric and cut it into strips already. This is pretty. You can be proud of yourself - it's OK.

That's really gorgeous. I just recently learned paper piecing. I am loving every second of it. Once I got my brain to function backwards, all well.

I hope to do this block very soon. I love your color combinations for it.

It is only tedious because it's your first time doing it. Once you get the hand of sewing on the reverse and trimming, it become second nature. It actually can be very relaxing because you "know" that points will meet where they belong, etc. etc.

Just do it, relax and enjoy. :D
