Before buying the Bernina I had three Singers and wish I had the Touch and Sew back. Disgusted in Texas!

Keep quilting !! It really does get better with time-- If you looked at one I did 10 years ago to the one I am working on now-- BIG difference !!!!! A few years ago a quilting board newsletter explained how to lay out your entire quilt and then secure just the middle third... cut away the batting on the outside thirds.. quilt the middle.. then add one side of the batting back on.......this really works !! I am almost done with a king size quilt and I have not had to fight it at all

I enjoy every step of making a quilt. I pin the sandwich together, on my glass topped dining table. I would never be able to do it on the floor, I don't get how to do it and my knees couldn't do it either.
Instead of SID I have done( although not alot) sew about a 1/4" from the seam line using the walking to keep the stitches straight, I much prefer FMQ, I try for perfection but after lots and lots of quilts they are not perfect. I just like a large stiple.
