There is a little here and a little there but not much for quilters to really get into it. I am going to my first quilt festival in Columbus, OH in a little over two weeks. Please quilters answer this: If you were in my shoes what as a quilter I MUST see and do in Atlanta and Columbus? ~Erika.
I am so happy for you that you get to come home and see your granddaughter! Wish you were coming closer to the Pacific Northwest I would try and meet with you to go to some of those quilt shops with you. Anyway I hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy every last second of your 2 weeks here. I will be waiting to hear all the wonderful stories of your vacation.

    Thanks and take care,

Dear Erika - now I am envious! A quiltshow!! I went to the one in Houston twice, and have been in Paducah 5 times (I think) - and if Columbus is anything like Paducah .... bring a credit card! And don't suddenly think of how you are going to use a fabric - just buy what you like! Whenever I started thinking about where to use a specific fabric and ended up NOT buying it, I also ended up regretting it. As for the JoAnn fabric stores: I would buy only fabric for backing there (if at all) - they do have nice looking fabric, but the quality is not like what you'll find in quiltshops. What they have though is batting: I use Mountain Mist Quilt Light, and JoAnn has it.
Let me know how it went, and what you bought!!
    Your envious friend from Germany!!!

Oh Tirolgirl! We already have our date set for Oct this year. Yes! My credit card is a must but don't hesitate to send me a "to buy" list because I can get stuff and get it back to you either when I get home or I can mail it from wherever. My good fortune is your good fortune. I can shop for us both.

An empty suitcase and credit card seems to be the recurring must haves! lol. The suitcase is a plus because once I get it back to Afghanistan I ship free to Germany. Yes!

For sure bring an empty suitcase. I have been known to mail my dirty clothes home so I could fill my suitcase with new fabrics.
