    Back in the early 1990s a group of us sewers/quilters went through a spell of making these and attaching them to the cover of round tins/ wooden boxes (different sizes) and filled them with sewing notions for Christmas gifts. They were a lot of fun to make... even made some decorative potholders with the folded dahlia too. Funny how everything that goes around... comes around again. I love it!

    Yes! I remember doing these. In fact I still have a beautiful Christmas one that my daughter made for me. I don't remember what she had in it, but I keep buttons in it now. Which brings me to my next question. What are people doing with these now? Is there a way to incorporate them into quilts?
