I bought a pack and they cut but I think its wore out faster than a reg blade. To me it did'nt last long enough.

What kind of cutter do you have? The HF blades have a round, not notched hole, so if you used them in an Olfa or Fiskars, they may not fit right. Martelli cutters use the round hole.

Is replacement of the cutting mat dependant on its age or how much it has been used?

I have a cutter w/a notched hole but the side that the blade goes is round.

My cutting mat is fairly new, as in less than two months.

I haven't had any problems with the blades. Sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied.

They will accept the unopened blades back at Harbor Freight. Or offer them to someone on the board that doesn't live near a Harbor Freight.
This happened to me also... and I put another blade in and it was perfect. I will continue to use them because the price is fantastic compared to regular blades and there is no difference except quite a difference in savings.

I'm happy with mine. I have an Olfa and a Fiskars and they work just fine in both of them.

no problem here with the blades. I cut for many people and never have a problem...my brother just gave me 26 of them for my upcoming birthday!

I replaced mine because it was about 12 - 15 years old. It was a June Tailor mat and I replaced with an Alvin mat. It was replaced b/c many, many fibers from the surface were showing and I had grooves from cutting on it - actual lines like you see at LQS', Joann's and the like. I didn't know better when I bought the mat that it would groove like that. MY Olfa(?), previous one, hadn't grooved like that but I hadn't had it as long either.
I don't know when they should be replaced but I needed to replace mine and DH bought the Alvin as a present for me. LOVE my Alvin. Have I mentioned how much I love my Alvin mat??!!
