YES. I LOVE MY ALVIN MAT!!! :D As an added bonus, it also dosn't collect kitty fur, the perfect quilt complement, like the June Tailor does. Both my upstairs kitties are weirdly attracted to all my sewing mats. Maybe they like the odor???

I bought several packs of the blades but was leary of using them because of the reports about them. Well, my old blade was skipping threads so i opened a pack and tried the HF ones. They cut like cutting through butter. Maybe you got a bad batch. I hope so, cause those others are high.

I use the HF blades in my Martelli cutter with no problems at all.
I'm betting you were the lucky recipient of a bad blade. :(

I had the same experience as the OP. The one that did work out of the pkg didn't last long at all and then I got one or two that were awful right out of the box. I switched to a fiskars one I had bought a long time ago and I couldn't believe the difference. For me, it's not worth it. Plus HF is an hour away and I almost never go to the area where it is.

I really would like to try the HF blades, but here is my sad story. I went to HF and was told they were out of stock right then, but would give me a 'rain check'. So, the next shipment was due in the following Wednesday. So, I called to see if the shipment came in and did they have any of the carpet blades. I was told no, because one of the clerks that works there buys every one of them for her sister-in-law who quilts. :-| What now? Next time I called, I was told I had the wrong number? What's going on?
I'd drive over and check, but it's a good 10 miles. I guess I'll suffer. :-(
