I have two large rulers that I use for most of my rotary cutting. One has the emery/sandpaper discs on the bottom, the other is called an Olippfa(?sp) and has a lip on it that rests against the bottom of your cuttig mat. As long as your fabric is squared to your mat ,lines are always straight and no trouble with slipping.

I find the sandpaper discs great.

Get the sticky back sandpaper. No to large of a grit. Cut little circles not as large as a dime, maybe the size of a thumb tack. Stick to the back of your ruler. Near the corners. The paper is thin enough that it will not lift your ruler.

My favorite "no slide" tip is Nexcare medical tape. Put it onto the bottom of your ruler and it will keep your ruler from sliding plus it is see through and cheap. Can get it anywhere too. I have a roll in my sewing room.

If you have a bacon press or an old flat iron, use it to hold your rulers steady. Both of these have handles attached.

I use Invisigrip made by Omnigrid. On page one Tracy50 is showing pics on her rulers. I use it on every ruler I have and it's the best thing since popcorn.

I use Quilter's Rule rulers with the grippy nubbs on the side that touches the fabric..can't live without them. But when I need to use others I realize how spoiled I am and cut reeaaalllll slow & easy. =)
