Cotton is still growing (or trying to) in Texas and Oklahoma. My daughter is studying cotton diseases on her test plots for her Masters Degree. Her alternate test plots are growing peanuts in case the weather doesn't cooperate. When dealing with nature, having a backup plan can be useful.
