I love the picture of your dog. Is it a Collie or a Sheltie? We have a 9-yr old Sheltie, and we just love him. Yours is beautiful.

There's nothing wrong with the way you have the blocks. I'm not one for ripping and re-doing unless I absolutely have to and you certainly don't have to for this quilt to be great. I would definitely add the dark again to the other two sides come back in with a fairly wide red border then back to the dark or if its done enough - bind in the darker color. You can always use any of the different configurations next time you make a log cabin quilt.

I love your quilt. Maybe you could put the black or dark brown sashing around all and forget about the white.

I didn't read all of the posts; but some are saying things about your sashing; but I don't think it's sashing, is it? The dark is just your last dark. I'd say just rearrange as others have said. Nice quilt blocks.

I have a Log Cabin quilt top that I got at an estate sale. I don't know what to do with it. The squares are not even at all, the little pieces go different ways. The lady said that her grandmother pieced this together. Does anyone have any suggestions I don't want to ruin this top. The grandmother was way up in years when she did this. Could not believe the granddaughter was selling it. Thank you for your help. Glenda C.

Always the rebel ... I would split a border - put cream on the sides where you currently have dark brown, and dark brown where you currently have cream!

I like what you have colorwise but would add the dark on the two light colored sides also.

I have never "sashed" a log cabin. I have a log cabin pattern book entitled "Quilt in a Day" by Eleanor Burns. It has been very helpful to me in arranging the blocks. Good luck. Joyce
