My late husband would join me at the Sydney Quilt Show straight from work as his architect's office was nearby. He would walk around with me making comments about the design, choice of colour etc, and since he was always well dressed, in a suit and bow tie, I'm sure some other show attendees thought he was a judge! At any rate, they would stand close by to listen to his comments. As you can imagine, I miss him so much (and not just at quilt shows!)

You have a keeper!! My hubby also goes to quilt shows with me and to quilt shops. He seems to like to do it but when he is around others he will tell them he just had to go with me and acts like he doesn't like to go. He just tries to be macho around them. He even helps me pick out my machines.

My husband enjoys the Road to California show. He's a big guy and really stands out among all the women. But he loves the quilts and reasons that men go to art galleries so why shouldn't they go to quilt shows!

What a wonderful story. You have a wonderful supportive husband.
I have a wonderful husband just like yours. He takes me to the Sisters Quilt festival every year.
We get up very early and drive to Sisters. You have to get there early to get a decent parking spot. He takes me to breakfast, then we hit the show. He takes pictures of all the quilts I like and more. He comments on the beauty of the quilts. I don't know how many times I have heard him say "That is amazing" or "How did they do that?" He looks on the quilt show as an art show. There are not many artists that put more time and love into their work than quilters do.
I had the opportunity to go to the show this year with my some quilting friends. My husband was actually hurt that I didn't want to go with him. So I cancelled with my group and I am going with him again. It is a highlight of the summer.
