This is a wonderful story. Your grandmother will be smiling down on you while you are working on her project.

Beautiful story and what a wondeful legacy of love! Enjoy seeing your grandmother's plans and getting to share in them. I know she is smiling and watching to see what you do with the things she left you.

This says it all. I'm misty -eyed too, like so many others.

Thank you for sharing. I too had a wonderful grandmother and words could never do justice to what she ment to me. Your story set me to tears, and your Mom is pretty special too. Never ever take her for granted, but cherish her every day. You only get one Mommy... and they are for always.

My "sewing" grandma died when my mom (her daughter) was 18 from breast cancer. So, I never got to meet her. Every so often my mom (also a quilter) will say, "Mother would have been so proud of you" to either me or my daughter (who also sews). I wish I could have known her...

I sew agree with you. I pray that my Grand children love me that much and remember me with so much love.
It doesn't just happen we grandmothers need to show them unconditional love and worship the ground they walk on.
    I have been very blessed with 4. 3 DGS 7, 3 & 11 months and 1 DGD 10.

What a great story. Brought tears to my eyes for sure. I was/am very close to my grandmother but live across the country from her now and she's suffering from Alzheimers. I'm in the process of losing her and there's nothing I can do. You are so very lucky to have such wonderful tangible things to remember her by. That patchwork jacket is adorable.

I also noticed you named your son after your grandparent's last name. I did the same. :) Gordan and Susan Carson are my grandparents and my oldest son is named Carson.
