My mom gave me my grandma for Christmas

How touching!! It sounds like the gene pool dripped down to your mom and you from Grandma as well! Beautiful story.
Your daughter is adorable and the jacket you made is spectacular - my mother would be sooo impressed with the way you matched your patterns (uh oh, it's the first thing I noticed, too!!)

Rubia truely it was a gift of love from your grandmother, and your Mom. I think of one thing I would add to this sampler. Take that picture of them and put it on a materisl and include it on the quilt. It would be love sleeping under her love every time you use it. I thank you for shareing her story with us. Marvel

DGD. I cook and quilt with all. When I cook they learn math. My first DGS is 7 and is now making his second quilt and loves his "special" time with me. I let them design their quilts and they are so very proud of themselfs when they are done.
There are many great men quilters and of course most of the great chefs are men. Stand your ground.
