My new Janome
#11
I have the same one...had the same problem tonight...lots of shaking and clanging and had to clean it all out...I noticed it last night that there was tons of lint...I just finished sewing some big seat cushions and the fabric was a velour type so all that fuzz built up in there...
Now here is another little note about something I learned the hard way...I will pass it on so nobody gets as frustrated as I did the other day...I was trying to do a zigzag/coverlock stitch on my cushions...too thick for the serger..so the night before I tried on and it was great...the following evening I switched the needle plate...to the one for quilting...it has a small hole for FMQ...and then of course I forgot about it and when I went to resume my zig zag it would sew for about 3 or 4 stitches and then not move...wasted an entire day....what really got my ticked is I called the store where I bought it and the clerk said "Bring it in there is something wrong with it." Well I knew that but I was hoping she could troubleshoot with me...she just had no time...so I left it until after dinner and then I went up to my sewing room with a fresh mind and went through all the steps and it finally hit me...then I called my sister...who has the same machine...and said..."You know that stupid FMQ needle plate we bought for the Janome?...don't try to zigzag with it....She had a good laugh...

I have had mine for about 7yrs. It got sick this spring and cost $120.00 to fix it...it was 2 fuses. So a very simple fix for the workhorse and I truly love my Janome6600. I got a Viking while this one was being fixed and although it is a gorgeous machine, I prefer my 6600. So have fun and enjoy.

After doing a lot of searching and comparison THIS will be the machine that I am buying...hopefully in April. The store where I picked out my current machine sells Janome, has classes and does the repair work. I have been very happy with my Elna but it just doesn't have the bells and whistles that I need/WANT for sewing quilts.
I plan on going to the store in a few weeks and checking out everything...of course then I am going to want to bring it home with me. LOL But...I really do have to save the money to buy it rather than "throw it on the credit card".

The 7700 has a freearm. That is why I ended up with that one. I had the 6600 but bought it back after several days and got the 7700. My husband bought it for me for Christmas without me..the dealer told him that if I did not like it I could trade up. So glad I did.
