    Be sure the tech shows you how to thread, how to adjust both top and bobbin tension, gives you guides on what size needle used for different thread (i.e. cotton vs. poly vs monopoly vs. metallic), where and how often to oil, how to change those basic parts that tend to wear out over time. And ask them to show you how to use rulers/templates, too. So exciting! Have lots of fun with it.
