One of the ladies in my quilting club had a seam ripper with a wooden handle. I was admiring it and she told me her husband makes them. So I asked if she could have one made with a larger handle as I have large hands and arthritic fingers. He made it to order and I love it.
If you know anyone who is a woodworker, and has a lathe, he/she could make one for you easily enough if you show the photo.

I have seen these at several Quilt shows. He also makes the little wallpaper seam rollers with a fancy handle for pressing the seams. Thet are so neat!!

I think we had a board member post home made rippers. They were very nice. I am glad you got one that fits your hands. I snapped my favorite one in half this week. I didn't know that was going to happen!
